PrintDecra lightweight roof solution at Ibrox
Six blocks of multistory flats around Ibroxholme Oval, just yards from Ibrox Park, underwent extensive refurbishment including re-roofing, to bring them in line with the current regulations.
Rangers aren't the only winners at Ibrox! Residents just yards from Ibrox Stadium, were celebrating long after Rangers won the Scottish Premier League last season following a massive refurbishment programme on their homes. Clydeview Housing Partnership (part of Glasgow Housing Association) is responsible for the regeneration of some of Scotland's most deprived areas. Six blocks of multistory flats around Ibroxholme Oval, just yards from Ibrox Park, were in need of extensive refurbishment including re-roofing, to bring them in line with the current regulations.
The lightweight solution.
The Campbell Construction Group, contractors for the entire project, were facing an original roof covering of mineral felt, which was past its expected lifespan and seriously perished.
In addition the structure wouldn't take the weight of concrete tiles so a lightweight replacement was necessary.
Campbell specified Decra's Parctiles, in Charcoal Grey, as the best solution.
They weigh approximately 85% less than concrete while maintaining the appearance of traditional tiles.
Approximately 4500 tiles (just under 2100 square metres) were fixed over Decra TwoF Underlay.
All waterproofing products used were either Decra or from (parent company) Icopal.
And finally, contracts manager Paul Muldoon told us: 'We chose Decra tiles, obviously because they are light, we've used them before, found them to be good and we knew we would get any help we needed from Decra or from their approved installers NC Roofing Services'.
