Icopal Rainwater Systems
|
Developed in Sweden to a typical design of elegant simplicity, and introduced into this country by Decra Roof Systems, world leader in lightweight roofing, this new system is manufactured from galvanised steel with a practically maintenance free, high built polyester finish.
The robust, 125mm rainwater drainage system manufactured in galvanised steel with high performance high built polyester coating is available in black (other colours arte available to special order) and is lighter and easier to handle than cast iron or aluminium, far stronger and more durable than plastic and far more environmentally friendly. It is manufactured from 20% recycled materials and, at the end of its useful life, can then be fully recycled into high quality products.
Its pedigree is beyond doubt as it is produced by a company within the giant Icopal Group, who certainly know about roofs and all that is connected with them. Icopal is the world’s largest manufacturer of roofing felts and lightweight, stone-coated steel roof tiles.

Because of an almost obsessive attention to detail and the desire to provide optimum accuracy and quality, the
manufacturing processes of Icopal Rainwater Systems utilise the same robotic equipment as that for the production of
Swedish motor vehicles.
 | The benefits of the system Now’s the time to put aside traditional thinking and check out all the benefits that the new Icopal Rainwater System provides. Performance benefits The standard 125 mm gutter has been developed to provide a far greater flow capacity than most other alternative systems. Installation benefits Nearly all of the components of the system are designed for superior push-fit connection, totally eliminating the need for special skills. Maintenance benefits The high built polyester finish, combined with the inherent strength of its tough, steel core, ensures that the system needs almost no maintenance. Compare that with standard plastic rainwater goods. Another plus is that there should never be any necessity to repaint. |
 | Ultraviolet protection Steel substrate - unlike UPVC - is naturally impervious to UV rays and, therefore, they will not cause the Icopal system to become fragile or brittle with age. Thermal stability With Icopal the coefficient of thermal expansion is far lower than the materials used in other, more common systems. This dramatically reduces the likelihood of bending or warping, and the prospect of leaking joints. Strength benefits The rolled front of the gutter is a good example of thoughtful and practical design, in that it safely accepts the weight of a ladder, and the operative on it, without the usual potential risks of fracture or deformation. Vandal resistance The exceptional strength of the Icopal system ensures that it is highly resistant to impact and will not shatter or crack under the abuse usually associated with vandalism. |
Man and machinery working in perfect harmony to produce the next generation of rainwater systems. Fully tested The Icopal Rainwater System complies with the following standards: BS EN 612: 1996 Eaves Gutters and Rainwater Downpipes of Metal Sheet. BS 6367: 1983 Code of Practice for Drainage of Roofs and Paved Areas. BS EN 1462: 1997 Brackets for Eaves Gutters, Requirements and Testing. |
