Decra Plus - Monopitch Ridge using D Ridge and Universal Ridge/Hip Ventilator - Detail from drawing DPSE041

Installation Guidance - Decra Plus

1. Cut roofing felt min. 5mm short to allow clear ventilation through to ridge.
2. Fix two tiling battens 50 x 25mm side by side at top of ridge, using galvanised nails (Allow min. 5mm clear air gap between tiling, battens and fascia to ensure clear ventilation to roofspace).
3. Secure top course of tiles using 4-no Decra Plus Nails driven through the downturned nose of the top course into
the battens.

4. Nail additional 50 x 25mm batten, with Decra ‘D’ Ridge Sealing Strip attached to underside, onto the top course of tiles in a position to suit the fitting of the Decra 0.43mm ‘D’ Ridge Cap.

5. Install Universal Vent strips behind the front edge of the Ridge Cap.

6. Fold Ridge Cap to shape and fit over batten (above) and fascia.

7. Secure Ridge Cap with 4-no Decra Nails/Screws both sides.

The procedure for installing the monopitch ridge is essentially the same as the detail for the ridges (please refer to ridge instruction shown earlier in this guide)

NOTE: Where roof pitches exceed 35° it may be necessary
to adjust the return angle of the downturned leg of the D
Ridge cap and use an alternative size of ridge fixing batten.
NOTE: Decra D Ridge Caps are tapered to allow for laps.
Overall length of ridge cap 1280mm, lap each ridge cap
80mm to provide 1200mm overall length of cover.
