Vertical Tiling
All Decra tile profiles can be hung vertically. However, the Decra Oberon Tile is the natural choice for vertical hanging because it provides a finished appearance which closely resembles that of traditional vertically hung tiles.
General Installation guidance refers to Decra Oberon Tiles
Fix tiles to battens in standard manner as per roofing:
-
Always install Decra Underlay or Breather Membrane on exterior face of structure.
-
When installing the tiles ensure that they are laid in a random/broken bond pattern.
-
This can be achieved by cutting the first tiles at verges and external/internal angles to random lengths ensuring that the pattern of the profile of the tile does not appear repeatedly in the same vertical position up the elevation to be tiled.
-
Fix each tile in lowest course and first course above doors/windows using four nails/screws driven horizontally close to the high point of the tile profile.
-
Fix tiles in each subsequent courses using four nails/screws driven through downturned nose into face of battens and one Decra Fixing Nail/Screw driven through the intermediate step of the down turned nose of the tile into the face of the batten.
